Army of Cuban Occupation Medal

Criteria:

The Army of Cuban Occupation Medal is awarded to U.S. service personnel who have engaged in duty within the geographical borders of Cuba between the dates of July 18, 1898 and May 20, 1902. The medal is commonly given to personnel of the U.S. Army, but was attainable by other branches of service under established circumstances. The Army of Cuban Pacification Medal was a comparatively named decoration, but was awarded for the withdrawal of U.S. forces from Cuba seven years following the close of the Spanish-American War. The award was constructed by the U.S. War Department in June of 1915. The medal acknowledges those service personnel who performed garrison occupation duty in Cuba, after the close of the Spanish-American War.
